Elie to Cambo
Five of us [eventually] launched from Elie on Saturday, into a south easterly swell, with the wind on our backs. The sun was even out. The departure was a little later than planned, with Stephen and myself having been at Elie for two hours before we launched. We wandered up past St.Monan's, Pettenweem, and Anstruther, eventually stopping for lunch at Crail. The harbours were all very picturesque, although all required a little care because of the swell.

As we approached Fife Ness, we ran into a wee thunderstorm. As the wind was from the west, we pushed on, hoping that it was being pushed out into the North Sea, which it was. However, the claps of thunder emanating from it added to the atmosphere ....
